Rasini Palace

The Palace, now home to the Municipality of Cavenago after a careful renovation, was built around 1580 on a project by the architect Martino Bassi and restored in the following centuries. The frescoes are of particular interest: in the Sala delle Fontane and in the Sala di Giove the landscapes and fantastic figures refer to the school of Carlo Antonio Procaccini; while the Salone di Apollo is decorated with the Chariot of the Sun by Mattia Bortoloni and with Rococo stuccoes. On the main floor the restorations have brought to light seventeenth-century frescoes with musicians by Giovanni Paolo Cavagna and Giovanni Stefano Montalto.

Cavenago - Santa Maria in Campo

Santa Maria in Campo

Dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, Santa Maria in Campo was built on the edge of the town around the 13th century, in the typical Romanesque style of the Po Valley, with a hull roof and a Giottesque bell tower. Inside there is a pictorial cycle of the sixteenth century. The original frescoes of the Leonardo school, once placed in the church, have been restored and are now visible in the parish church dedicated to the patron saint San Giulio.
